Arsenal Defeats Tottenham At The North London Derby
Arsenal have won the north London derby against Tottenham thanks to a first-half turnaround.
A Dominic Solanke own goal and a great finish from Leandro Trossard gave them the lead after Son Heung-min’s opener.
The Tottenham captain opened the scoring with a deflected effort but it was a set piece that did the business again for Arsenal with the Brazilian heading in via Solanke from a Declan Rice corner before Trossard finished superbly to make it 2-1.
There were more chances for the hosts in the second half but they couldn’t add to their lead. That didn’t matter, though, as Spurs created very little themselves.
The win moves Arsenal within four points of leaders Liverpool while Tottenham remain marooned in 13th.
