American Airlines Plane Collides With Helicopter

A commercial airplane with 60 passengers and 4 crew members on board has collided in midair with a Blackhawk helicopter as the jet was approaching a runway at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
The accident happened as the jet, operated by regional carrier PSA Airlines on behalf of American Airlines, was attempting to land just before 9 pm local time on Wednesday.

Radar tracking sites show the passenger jet appears to have fallen into the frigid Potomac River. This is still a developing story and we will bring you updates as and when we get them.
