Uba Sani: APC Fails If Opposition Secures 25% of Kaduna Votes
Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has said the All Progressives Congress (APC) would have failed if any
opposition candidate secures even 25 per cent of the votes in the state in the 2027 general elections.
Sani made the statement during an interview with TVC on Sunday, 25 October 2026, a day after
President Bola Tinubu flagged off the APC’s national campaign in Kaduna.
“In Kaduna state, allowing any candidate to even get 25 percent of the votes is a failure on our side,” the
governor said.
He expressed confidence that Kaduna would deliver massive votes for President Tinubu, attributing this
to federal government projects and interventions in the state over the past three and a half years.
Sani said residents would reciprocate the support by voting en masse for the president.
The governor noted that APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda had promised the North would give
Tinubu 70 per cent of its votes, adding that Kaduna would surpass that figure.
Sani highlighted federal interventions such as the handover of the Ahmadu Bello Stadium to the Kaduna
State Government, which his administration is rebuilding into a 33,000-capacity facility meeting FIFA
standards, as well as the conversion of Kaduna Polytechnic into a federal university of technology.
He criticised opposition parties for focusing on social media attacks rather than engaging voters through
rallies and town hall meetings.
The remarks come amid rising political activity in Kaduna ahead of the 2027 elections, following recent
defections to the APC and the formal launch of Tinubu’s re-election campaign in the state.
