Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Begins Re-election Campaign Across Kogi Central
Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has commenced her re-election campaign across Kogi Central ahead of the February 6, 2027 senatorial election, drawing supporters and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates to campaign engagements across the district.
The campaign, held on Sunday, featured roadside receptions in communities across Okene and other parts of the senatorial district before culminating in a gathering at the senator’s residence in Obeiba, Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area.
Her media aide, Mike Idoko, disclosed this in a statement issued in Abuja on Monday.
Akpoti-Uduaghan was accompanied by her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, and other political associates. PDP candidates contesting National Assembly and Kogi State House of Assembly seats in the district also joined the campaign.
Addressing supporters, the senator said her connection with the people of Kogi Central went beyond election periods, describing them as her family and the reason for her continued commitment to public service.
She thanked residents for their support and said their confidence motivated her to continue representing the district.
Akpoti-Uduaghan also pledged to intensify efforts to attract infrastructure projects, economic opportunities and other development initiatives to Kogi Central, with particular attention to the Ajaokuta area.
She stressed that effective representation required more than occupying public office, saying elected officials must remain accessible to their constituents, respond to their needs and pursue meaningful legislative interventions.
The campaign also brought together PDP candidates for the Adavi/Okehi, Ajaokuta and Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituencies, alongside candidates contesting seats in the Kogi State House of Assembly.
According to the statement, thousands of supporters gathered at the senator’s Ihima residence, with the crowd remaining there late into the night.
Kogi Central Senatorial District comprises five local government areas: Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, Okene and Ogori-Magongo.
