2027: Obidient Mobiliser Serah Ibrahim Endorses Makinde’s Presidential Bid

Serah Ibrahim, a prominent grassroots mobiliser associated with the Obidient Movement, has publicly backed Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde’s presidential ambition ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ibrahim expressed her support on Wednesday during the unveiling of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) presidential manifesto in Abuja, where she introduced Makinde and described him as the “most outstanding Nigerian on the ballot”.

Her appearance at the event drew attention because of her previous involvement in mobilising support for former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, who is now seeking the presidency under the Nigeria Democratic Congress.

In a post on her X account on Wednesday, Ibrahim disclosed that she was part of the team that developed Makinde’s policy manifesto, tagged the Reset Agenda.

“An honour to have been part of the process of developing the Policy Manifesto of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde. It has been both a privilege and a responsibility. Today, it was an honour to introduce it to Nigerians,” she wrote.

She urged Nigerians to read the document and share their views on its four pillars, which focus on the economy, security, education and governance.

“Please give it a read on seyimakinde.org and let’s hear your thoughts on the four pillars of the #ResetAgenda. God bless Nigeria,” she added.

Ibrahim’s public endorsement marks a notable development in the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections, although she has not publicly announced that she is leaving the Obidient Movement.

Her support for Makinde also comes weeks after Obi addressed speculation about a possible disagreement between them, describing Ibrahim as his daughter.

“No, Serah is my daughter. How will a father fight with his daughter? Everybody you see around me are my children, and I love and care for all of them,” Obi said in a video addressing the reports.

Makinde, the APM presidential candidate, unveiled his Reset Agenda manifesto on Wednesday, outlining proposals on economic reforms, security, education and governance.
