Anthony Joshua Visits President Bola Tinubu.

British-Nigerian boxer Anthony Joshua paid a courtesy visit to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at his lagos residence.

The meeting was revealed on Wednesday, January 1, through photos shared on President Tinubu’s official X account.

During the visit, Joshua presented the President with a personalised, autographed boxing glove.

In his post, Tinubu praised Joshua as a global ambassador for Nigeria, stating, “Anthony Joshua’s dedication and achievements continue to inspire millions daily. Thank you for the autographed glove—it is a symbol of what Nigerians are known for. We are Nigeria. Proudly Nigerian.”

The visit comes days after he met with Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun in Abeokuta.

During that meeting, Governor Abiodun named Joshua a “sports ambassador” for Ogun State, recognising the former world boxing champion’s contributions to sports and his efforts to inspire young Nigerians.

Joshua’s interactions with prominent Nigerian leaders underscore his commitment to celebrating his heritage and fostering national pride.

His visit to Tinubu reinforces his standing as a boxing icon and a unifying figure for Nigerians worldwide.
