Israel’s Attack On City of Jenin Kills 10

At least 10 people were killed and 40 injured Tuesday in a major Israeli assault on the city of Jenin in the occupied West Bank, according to the Ramallah-based Palestinian Health Ministry. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said the military operation, named “Iron Wall,” would be “extensive and significant.” “We are acting methodically and with determination.”
While the ceasefire in Gaza holds following the release of three hostages for 90 Palestinians lodged in Israeli jails and a surge in aid to the enclave, violence has flared in the West Bank. The Israeli assault began hours after Israeli settlers rampaged through Palestinian villages, targeting homes, businesses and vehicles, according to Palestinian and Israeli authorities, as well as rights groups.
