Megan Thee Stallion Wins Restraining Order Against Tory Lanez

Following a hearing on Thursday regarding Megan Thee Stallion’s request for a restraining order against Tory Lanez, the Houston rapper was granted a five-year order against Lanez.

Megan testified that she barely leaves home due to anxiety and harassment, with people at shows yelling “Free Tory” at her. “I’m just a nervous wreck all the time,’ she said.

Megan’s attorney, Mari Henderson, argued she deserved protection after being a victim of a violent crime. The judge cited “several uncontroverted facts” including Tory shooting at Megan, as grounds for the order.

Lanez’s lawyer, Michael Hayden, argued that the restraining order would constitute an unfair “prior restraint” on free speech. He stated that Lanez has no intention of contacting Megan in the future and “has no desire to communicate with the petitioner ever again.”

Megan’s restraining order against Lanez will last 5 years. He is ineligible for parole until September 2029, and Judge Bloom’s five-year restraining order against him will remain in effect until January 9, 2030.
