Tinubu Condemns Plateau and Kaduna Killings, Vows To Bring Justice
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has strongly condemned the recent attacks by gunmen in Angwan Rukuba
district, Jos, Plateau State, and in Kahir village, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy,
Bayo Onanuga, the President described the attacks as “barbaric and cowardly.” He particularly
condemned the killing and abduction of wedding guests in Kahir village.
Tinubu stated that such acts are “an affront to all that Nigeria stands for” and assured
Nigerians that the perpetrators “will not go unpunished.”
He directed security agencies to intensify efforts to pursue the attackers, rescue the remaining
abductees immediately, and act proactively on early warning intelligence to prevent further incidents.
The President also cautioned against misinformation that could inflame tensions, commiserated with
the affected families, and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.
He commended Governors Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State and Uba Sani of Kaduna State for their
efforts in managing the situations. Tinubu added that the government is acquiring more sophisticated equipment to enable security agencies to track and apprehend criminals in real time.
