FG Unveils Theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary
The Federal Government has announced the official theme for Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day: “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation.”
In a statement released on Wednesday, in Abuja, by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), the theme is intended to underscore “unity, collaboration and patriotism” across all sectors of the country — government, private sector, civil society, and citizens alike — to push national peace, prosperity, and progress.

The choice of theme also reflects Nigeria’s resilience since gaining independence in 1960, and signals a call to consolidate past achievements while pursuing more ambitious goals under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
As part of the preparations, the FG has tasked all government agencies and their partners to align their forthcoming programmes with this overarching theme, ensuring that the message resonates across various domains of national life.
The unveiling comes ahead of planned activities for the week of celebration, which include:
* A Juma’at prayer on Friday, September 26
* An inter-denominational church service on Sunday, September 28
* A World Press Conference on Monday, September 29 in Abuja.

In addition, the FG has already inaugurated the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) to plan and execute the independence celebrations. The IMC was inaugurated under the leadership of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, who emphasized that the ceremony is both a reflection on Nigeria’s journey and a forward call to action.
At the inauguration, Akume remarked, “This anniversary is a reminder of where we are coming from and where we are going from here… An anniversary is not just a celebration of the past; it is a call for action for the future.”
Also unveiled alongside ceremonial plans is the “Nigeria @ 65 Compendium Project
Workstation”, a media hub collaboration between the OSGF and CherryAfrica Magazine. The workstation will host interview series featuring government officials, and serve as a repository of Nigeria’s development milestones across sectors.

In this grand pattern of things you actually get a B+ just for effort. Exactly where you actually lost us ended up being on your specifics. You know, it is said, the devil is in the details… And it couldn’t be much more accurate here. Having said that, let me reveal to you just what exactly did give good results. Your article (parts of it) is definitely extremely engaging and that is possibly why I am making an effort in order to opine. I do not make it a regular habit of doing that. Secondly, even though I can notice the leaps in logic you make, I am not really certain of how you appear to unite your details which help to make the conclusion. For right now I shall subscribe to your position however trust in the foreseeable future you actually link the facts better.
