Man City Beat Arsenal 2-0 To Win Carabao Cup

Manchester City defeated Arsenal 2-0 to win the 2026 Carabao Cup, with Nico O’Reilly scoring both
goals in the final at Wembley Stadium.
The match was played on Sunday, March 22, 2026, as City secured their ninth League Cup title,
reaffirming their dominance in domestic cup competitions.

After a relatively quiet first half, the game came alive in the second period, when 21-year-old Nico
O’Reilly struck twice within minutes to seal victory for Pep Guardiola’s side.
O’Reilly opened the scoring just after the hour mark, capitalising on a goalkeeping error before heading
home from close range.
He doubled the lead four minutes later with another header, finishing off a cross to put the result
beyond doubt.

Arsenal, who entered the final in strong form and with ambitions of multiple trophies, struggled to
create clear chances and failed to respond effectively after going behind. Their best opportunity came
late in the match but was unable to change the outcome.
The victory marks a significant achievement for manager Pep Guardiola, who continues to add to his
record in the competition, while also giving City their first silverware of the season.

For Arsenal and manager Mikel Arteta, the defeat represents a setback, ending their hopes of securing a
domestic cup title and raising further questions about their performance in major finals.
The result underscores Manchester City’s continued strength in knockout competitions, while Arsenal
must now regroup as they continue their campaign in other competitions.
