NAF Aircrash: Tinubu Declares 3-Day National Mourning
President Bola Tinubu has declared a three-day national mourning for Air Force personnel who died in the crash of a military plane today.
He also directed that flags should be flown at half-mast throughout the country as a mark of respect to the officers. The accident occurred near a naval base in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State. The aircraft, carrying 25 passengers and seven crew members, was on a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when it crashed.
Reacting to the crash, the Minister of Defence, Gen. Christopher Musa (rtd), expressed deep sorrow over the tragic crash of the military aircraft with tail number NAF 931, involving the dedicated personnel of the Armed Forces.
Also, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, has announced his ministry’s total cooperation and assistance in the ongoing search and rescue efforts for the crashed Military aircraft in Ondo State.
