Tinubu Departs for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah
President Bola Tinubu set to leave Abuja on Thursday for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform Umrah and
offer prayers for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.
The announcement was made in a State House statement issued on Wednesday by Bayo Onanuga,
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
According to the statement, the visit will provide the President with an opportunity for spiritual
reflection, devotion and prayers for the nation.
While in Makkah, Tinubu will perform the religious rites associated with Umrah, the Islamic lesser
pilgrimage that can be undertaken at any time of the year, and seek Allah’s guidance and blessings for
Nigeria and its people.
Before departing Abuja, the President is scheduled to commission equipment acquired by the Nigerian
Air Force for its operations.
The commissioning ceremony will take place at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe
International Airport.
Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the spiritual exercise.
