Arsenal kicked off the year 2025 with a strong 3-1 comeback win against Brentford in a thrilling London derby.
Brentford took the lead early through Bryan Mbeumo, who scored with a low shot past David Raya at the near post. But Gabriel Jesus quickly equalized for Arsenal with a diving header from a saved shot.

In the second half, Arsenal took control. Mikel Merino scored from a corner, and soon after, Gabriel Martinelli added a third goal, sealing the victory for the Gunners.
Despite a shaky start, Arsenal kept fighting and secured the three points on the road against Brentford. David Raya, played a crucial role in the second half with some impressive long-range distribution to set up attacks.

The visitors had chances to extend their lead further in the closing stages, but couldn’t as they extend their unbeaten run to 12 games and closed the gap to leaders Liverpool to six points.
