AY Apologises to Fans After Cardiff Leg of UK Comedy Tour Fails to Hold
Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has apologised to fans after the Cardiff leg of his AY Live: Single and Not Searching UK tour was disrupted, leaving ticket holders disappointed.
The show, scheduled for Sunday, October 25, 2026, at Valegate Retail Park in Cardiff, Wales, reportedly faced hours of delays and confusion, with many attendees unable to watch any of the advertised performers.
The disruption sparked complaints on social media, with reports of prolonged waiting, heated exchanges, and police presence at the venue.
In a statement shared on Instagram on Monday, AY said he and the other comedians on the bill travelled to Cardiff and arrived at the venue but could not perform because of unresolved payment commitments with the organisers.
“My fellow comedians and I travelled to Cardiff to perform and eventually entered the venue. Unfortunately, unresolved payment commitments delayed our appearance, and by the time we arrived at the hall, most of the audience had left,” he said.
The comedian expressed regret over the experience, acknowledging that fans who paid to attend the event deserved better.
AY also urged fans to consider his account of the incident, noting that he had explained the circumstances in a video shared through his official channels.
Addressing concerns over compensation, the comedian called on the event organisers and UK tour management to provide a clear resolution for affected attendees, including information on ticket refunds.
“I am calling on the organisers and our UK tour management to provide a clear resolution for ticket holders, including refund information,” he said.
He added that verified updates would be communicated through his official channels.
As of the time of filing this report, the organisers had yet to publicly explain the circumstances surrounding the disruption or announce a refund arrangement.Nigerian comedian and actor Ayo Makun, popularly known as AY, has apologised to fans after the Cardiff leg of his AY Live: Single and Not Searching UK tour was disrupted, leaving ticket holders disappointed.
