Palestinian Authority, Arab Leaders Welcome New Trump Gaza Peace Plan

The Palestinian Authority (PA) and several Arab leaders have expressed cautious support for the
newly unveiled Gaza peace plan proposed by former U.S. President Donald Trump, marking a
surprising shift in Middle East diplomacy.
The plan, announced over the weekend, outlines a framework aimed at ending years of conflict
in Gaza by combining economic investment, political dialogue, and security guarantees. It seeks
to improve living conditions for Palestinians while establishing a roadmap for long-term peace
between Israel and the Palestinian territories.

In a statement released on Monday, the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah welcomed the
initiative as “a potential starting point for meaningful dialogue,” while stressing that any
agreement must guarantee Palestinian rights and eventual statehood.
Key Arab leaders, including representatives from Egypt, Jordan, and the United Arab Emirates,
also praised the proposal, noting that it could serve as a foundation for renewed negotiations in a
region where past peace efforts have repeatedly stalled.

Trump, who has maintained an active role in international affairs since leaving office, described
the plan as “a realistic pathway to peace that prioritizes security, prosperity, and dignity for all
sides.” He argued that the plan builds on previous U.S.-brokered accords while addressing the
humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Reactions in Israel have been mixed, with some officials welcoming the security assurances
embedded in the plan, while others voiced skepticism about its feasibility without disarmament
of militant groups.

Observers say the PA’s tentative embrace of the proposal marks a significant diplomatic
opening, given its previous opposition to Trump-era policies in the region. Analysts caution,
however, that implementation will hinge on consensus among Israeli leaders, Palestinian
factions, and regional stakeholders.

The plan is expected to be discussed further at an upcoming regional summit, where Arab and
Western leaders will deliberate on next steps toward achieving lasting peace in Gaza and the
wider Middle East.
