Inter Miami’s Jordi Alba To Retire At End of 2025 Season
Jordi Alba, the former Barcelona and Spain left-back, has announced he will retire from
professional football at the conclusion of the 2025 MLS season with Inter Miami. Alba made the
announcement in a heartfelt video post on Instagram, saying the decision comes after much
reflection and with feelings of peace and contentment.

Alba, now 36, joined Inter Miami in 2023, reuniting with former Barcelona teammates Lionel
Messi, Sergio Busquets, and Luis Suárez. Despite signing a contract extension earlier in the year,
he decided that this season will be his last.
Over his distinguished career, Alba won numerous accolades, including six La Liga titles, five
Copa del Rey trophies, the 2015 UEFA Champions League, and success in international
tournaments with Spain, such as the 2012 European Championship. With Inter Miami, he has
helped the club win the Leagues Cup and Supporters’ Shield.

Alba will step away from club and professional football after Inter Miami’s playoffs conclude.
He retires with a legacy as one of the most dynamic and successful full-backs of his generation.
