Tinubu Returns To Nigeria After State Visit In Turkey

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following his state visit to the Republic of Türkiye.

The Airbus A330 conveying the President arrived at the Presidential Wing of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 8:55 p.m. on Saturday.

Tinubu’s arrival was confirmed in a terse notice issued to State House correspondents by the Presidency Saturday evening.

The state visit, which began on Tuesday, saw President Tinubu engage in bilateral discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and oversee the signing of nine agreements spanning defence, energy, security, research, and other strategic sectors.

During the visit, the two leaders discussed shared priorities aimed at strengthening cooperation between Nigeria and Türkiye across multiple dimensions of mutual interest.

The presidential delegation included Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, Attorney General and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi, Minister of Defence Gen. Christopher Musa (retired), and National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.
